Ashland KY  - - Starting pitcher Ray Sugar Bone Byers throws the complete game in the opening game of the Ashland Post 76 Fourth of July Tourney. Byers gives up 3 runs while scattering 10 hits in the 6 inning mercy run game. Byers proves to be very efficient on the mound for the Colts throwing only 79 pitches, walking none, and striking out 2 Hounds in the game. Defensively the Colts had zero errors in the game.

Offensively the Colts stepped up with 16 hits led by Kody Haubeil who collects 3 RBIs on the day with an RBI single and a 2 run blast later in the game. Roman Long has 4 hits and 2 RBIs while Emmitt Cunningham adds 2 singles, a triple, and 2 RBIs for the Colts. Multiple other Colts players did damage at the plate including Cole Ratcliff (2H, 2 RBIs), Daniel Haller (2 H, RBI), Lane Larson (H, RBI), Carter Glandon (H) and Lucas Foglesong (H). 

The Colts continue tournament play with the following scheduled games: 

  • Friday 12:30 pm v South Charleston
  • Saturday 12:30 pm v Portsmouth 23
  • Saturday 5:30 pm v Ashland Post 76

Sunday will be a championship round with games at 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 3 pm. Times to be determined by seeding and performance!

Chillicothe OH - - Kody Haubeil makes his first start on the bump in 2020 after overcoming a knee injury earlier this summer. Haubeil works 4 innings and gives up one unearned run in the start. Haubeil gets 4 Ks but does walk 3 batters as he was knocking off some rust! Drew Seymour works the fifth and final inning throwing 5 pitches to get a ground ball out and two fly balls. 

Offensively the Colts provided a lot of help as they banged out 16 hits scoring and scoring runs in every inning of the 5 innings shortened game. Three Colts players have multi-hit and multiple RBIs including Nick Salyer (2B, 2H, 2 RBIs), Bryce McWhorter (3H, 2 RBIs), Ryan Schwartz (3H, 2 RBIs). Other Colts adding some pop to the lineup included Cole Ratcliff (3H, 2B, RBI), Drew Seymour (H, RBI), and Lane Larson (2H).
