Ashland KY  - - The Colts come out of the gate quickly scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning sending 8 batters to the plate and scoring 3 runs on 3 hits, an error, and two walks.  The lead was short-lived as the Portsmouth 23 Bluejays quickly erased the lead by scoring 5 runs in the bottom half of the first inning. After 3 innings of play, the game was knotted at 3 for both clubs. Fortunately, the Colts were able to put up runs every inning thereafter through 6 innings of play before the game was called due to the time limit. 

Starting pitcher Roman Long kept working through some sloppy defense as the Colts have 3 errors on the day. Long gives up 2 earned runs on 7 hits, walks none and get 3 strikeouts in his first start of the summer on the bump. Reliever Ryan Schwartz works 2.2 innings of one-hit baseball but walks three and gives up one earned run. Closer Lucas Foglesgong works 0.1 innings and throws 2 pitches to close the door on the Bluejays.

At the plate, the Colts continue to hit the baseball ending the game with 11 hits on the day. Leadoff hitter Lane Larson sets the tone for the Colts as he belts out 3 hits (2B), scores 3 runs and has one RBI on the game. Cole Ratcliff had a hit and 4 RBIs, Kole Williams drives in 2 RBIs,  Daniel Haller (H, RBI), Bryce McWhorter (H, RBI), Ryan Schwartz (2H) and Carter Glandon (H) all contribute at the plate for the Colts in the win. 

The Colts continue tournament play with the following scheduled games: 

  • Saturday 5:30 pm v Ashland Post 76

Sunday will be a championship round with games at 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 3 pm. Times to be determined by seeding and performance!

Ashland KY  - - Starting pitcher Ray Sugar Bone Byers throws the complete game in the opening game of the Ashland Post 76 Fourth of July Tourney. Byers gives up 3 runs while scattering 10 hits in the 6 inning mercy run game. Byers proves to be very efficient on the mound for the Colts throwing only 79 pitches, walking none, and striking out 2 Hounds in the game. Defensively the Colts had zero errors in the game.

Offensively the Colts stepped up with 16 hits led by Kody Haubeil who collects 3 RBIs on the day with an RBI single and a 2 run blast later in the game. Roman Long has 4 hits and 2 RBIs while Emmitt Cunningham adds 2 singles, a triple, and 2 RBIs for the Colts. Multiple other Colts players did damage at the plate including Cole Ratcliff (2H, 2 RBIs), Daniel Haller (2 H, RBI), Lane Larson (H, RBI), Carter Glandon (H) and Lucas Foglesong (H). 

The Colts continue tournament play with the following scheduled games: 

  • Friday 12:30 pm v South Charleston
  • Saturday 12:30 pm v Portsmouth 23
  • Saturday 5:30 pm v Ashland Post 76

Piketon OH - -Nick Salyer had a day for the Colts as he tosses a complete game 3 hitter giving up one unearned run striking out 14 Waverly players!! Salyer drove in 4 runs at the plate with 3 hits (HR, 1B, 2B). The Colts provide plenty of support as they produce 12 hits in the win. Other leading hitters for the Colts included Ryan Schwartz (3H, 2B), Cole Ratcliff (2H, RBI), Lucas Foglesong (2H), Drew Seymour (H, RBI) and Lane Larson (H, RBI).

The Colts (14-6) get right back to it tomorrow (Friday) as they travel to the Ashland Post 76 Tournament this weekend and play at:

  • Friday 10 am v Huntington Hounds 
  • Friday 12:30 pm v South Charleston
  • Saturday 12:30 pm v Portsmouth 23
  • Saturday 5:30 pm v Ashland Post 76

Sunday will be a championship round with games at 10 am, 12:30 pm and 3 pm. Times to be determined by seeding and performance!

Chillicothe OH - - In the back half of the doubleheader with Portsmouth 23, the Colts weren’t ready to play as they spot Portsmouth 7 runs on 5 hits, 2 errors, and 2 wild pitches. Fortunately, the Colts were able to bounce back and play some defense while starter Kole Williams settles on the bump. Williams works three innings total, allowing no runners to reach base in the second and third innings of the game. Reliever Kyle Wingo works two innings giving up an earned run and striking out three. Closer Ryan Schwartz works three innings of 3 hit baseball to get the win for the Colts. Schwartz strikes out 5 and gives up no earned runs.

The Cardiac Colts continued to battle after a very sloppy start scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to send the game into extra innings. The 7th inning 3 run bomb by Jaden McNish proves to be the game-changer before the Colts scored two runs with two outs on a Ryan Schwartz walkout single. Plenty of Colts contributed at the plate including McNish (2 H), Schwartz (2 H), Lucas Foglesong (H, RBI), Williams (H), Cole Ratcliff (H, RBI), Lane Larson (H, RBI) and Nick Salyer (H, RS). 

The Colts (13-6) get right back to it Thursday as they travel to Piketon HS for a makeup league game against Waverly 142,  6 pm start.  The Colts will travel to the Ashland Post 76 Tournament this weekend and play at:

  • Friday 10 am v Huntington Hounds 
  • Friday 12:30 pm v South Charleston
  • Saturday 12:30 pm v Portsmouth 23
  • Saturday 5:30 pm v Ashland Post 76

Chillicothe OH - - Kody Haubeil makes his first start on the bump in 2020 after overcoming a knee injury earlier this summer. Haubeil works 4 innings and gives up one unearned run in the start. Haubeil gets 4 Ks but does walk 3 batters as he was knocking off some rust! Drew Seymour works the fifth and final inning throwing 5 pitches to get a ground ball out and two fly balls. 

Offensively the Colts provided a lot of help as they banged out 16 hits scoring and scoring runs in every inning of the 5 innings shortened game. Three Colts players have multi-hit and multiple RBIs including Nick Salyer (2B, 2H, 2 RBIs), Bryce McWhorter (3H, 2 RBIs), Ryan Schwartz (3H, 2 RBIs). Other Colts adding some pop to the lineup included Cole Ratcliff (3H, 2B, RBI), Drew Seymour (H, RBI), and Lane Larson (2H).

Hillsboro OH - - Lucas Foglesong throws a complete game shutout to open up Sunday play in the 2020 Hillsboro Wood Bat Tournament. Foglesong scatters 5 hits, walks one and strikes out 9 batters in the mercy-rule shortened six-inning game at Shaffer Park. The Colts provide more than enough offensive support for Foglesong as the team collects 16 hits in the game with eleven Colts players getting in on the action. The Colts offense had five players with multiple hits including Carter Glandon (2H, RBI), Lucas Foglesong (2H, 2 RBI), Kole Williams (2H, RBI), Drew Seymour (2H) and Lane Larson (2 H, RBI). Also contributing RBI hits were Emmitt Cunningham (H, 3 RBIs), Bryce McWhorter (H, 2 RBIs), and Cole Ratcliff.  Zane Joseph (H), Daniel Haller (H), and Ryan Schwartz (H) also delivered at the plate for the Colts in the Sunday blowout.

The Colts continue Hillsboro Wood Bat Tournament play in the Championship game at 3 pm.

Hillsboro OH - - Starting pitcher Kyle Wingo tosses a complete-game gem for the Colts. In the win, Wingo gives up 3 hits and gets 7 strikeouts as he was dominant on the mound. The Colts defense shows up to play with zero errors in the game. Offensively, Ryan Schwartz collects 3 hits and an RBI while Jaden McNish singles in the other RBI. Other contributors at the plate included Lane Larson, (2 H, 2B), Emmitt Cunningham (2H), and Cole Ratcliff (2B). 

The Colts immediately jump back into tournament play with a game against the Troy Bombers on field 2 at 3:30 pm today.

Hillsboro, OH - - YOUR Chillicothe 757 Colts built a five-run lead in the first inning and then held on long enough to defeat the Hillsboro 129 Renegades 7-6 to open up the Hillsboro Wood Bat Tournament. The Renegades battled back and it took a relay from the outfield to 2nd baseman Kole Williams to mow down a Hillsboro player at the plate to seal the deal in the top of the 7th inning. Starter Nick Salyer works two innings of one hit baseball and no runs. Zane Joseph, Sugar Ray Bone Byers and Ryan Schwartz all worked in relief for the Colts. Byers works 3.2 innings of relief scattering 3 hits combined with one run and two strikeouts. Schwartz works the last 2/3 of the 7th inning to secure the win for the Colts. Offensively the Colts are led by Cole Ratcliff (1B, 2B, 2 RBIs), Nick Salyer (2B, 2 RBIS) and Lane Larson (1B, RBI). 

The Colts continue tournament play in Hillsboro tomorrow where they play back-to-back games starting at 12:30 pm against the Piqua Legion squad and then the Troy Bombers.

Colts Split with Hillsboro 129 Renegades

Chillicothe, OH - - Hoffman Field at Mary Lou Patton Park

Game 1, final 12-8 loss. The Colts belt out 17 hits but struggle again fielding the baseball! Lucas Foglesong has another good outing in the no-decision as he works 4 innings with 6 strikeouts but also gives up 5 earned runs. Foglesong helps himself quite a bit at the plate as he has 4 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Nick Salyer’s bat is starting to heat up as he drops his first bomb of the summer along with two other hits and 3 RBIs in the league loss. Other contributors to the Colts offense include Bryce McWhorter (3 hits, RBI), Emmitt Cunningham (2 hits, RBI) as well as Drew Seymour, Roman Long, and Daniel Haller (hit, RBI). 

Reliever Bryce McWhorter works 3 innings and gives up only 1 earned run with no walks and a strikeout. The Colts defense gives up 6 unearned runs in the game in the loss. 

Game 2, final  12-2 win, 6 innings. The Colts bounce back in game 2 as Jaden McNish delivers 4 hits in the mercy-run 6 inning game. McNish belts out 3 doubles and 2 RBIs to give starter Kyle Wingo plenty of run support. Wingo goes 3.1 innings and strikes outs 2 batters in the start. Relievers Drew Seymour, Roman Long, and McNish work 2.2 innings of relief giving up 2 hits and no runs to shut the door on the Renegades. Offensively the bats continue producing in the second game as the Colts belt out 12 hits and the defense makes significant improvements with only 1 error! Centerfielder Emmitt Cunningham collects two hits and 2 RBIs. Catcher Carter Glandon adds a hit and an RBI for the Colts and continues to do an excellent job this summer behind the dish while leadoff hitter Foglesong continues to produce with a 3 RBI triple. Several others contributed at the plate with RBI singles including Cole Ratcliff, Sugar Ray Bone Byers, Zane Joseph, and Lane Larson. 

The Colts jump into tournament play this week as we head to the Hillsboro Wood Bat Tournament at Shaffer Park with the opening game Friday morning at 10 am.
